EXEMPT DEFINITION:
Will manage the Ranch Foreman, Cook, and Health, Safety, Security, and Maintenance Coordinator.
Will oversee the day-to-day general operation of AARS, under the general supervision of the Executive Director.
Will oversee the maintenance and operation of the facility.
Will oversee the 116 acres of Nugen's Ranch operation.
Will ensure that AARS maximizes the ranch production of hay, vegetables, fruits, and animals.
Will oversee the Board of Directors approved vocational programs under the direction of the Executive Director.
Will be responsible for the health and safety of participants as well as the facility and facility assets.
Will conduct trainings, monitoring, and coaching to all facility support staff on appropriate job duties and performance.
Will be responsible for ensuring 24-hour coverage of Evening and Night Monitors, safety, and cleanliness of the facility in coordination with the clinical team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Reporting to and taking direction from the AARS Executive Director.
Plan, direct, and oversee the activities within the facility and the 116 acres ranch operations.
Maximize the ranch productivity, which includes the growing and harvesting hay, vegetables, and fruit, and the raising, sales and / or slaughtering of ranch animals.
Oversee the work of the Ranch Foreman, Health, Safety, Security, and Maintenance Coordinator, and Cook.
Oversee, manage, and be the contact for the Board of Director adopted vocational programs and as indicated by the Executive Director.
Ensure regular feedback and guidance is provided to the Ranch Foreman, Health, Safety, Security, and Maintenance Coordinator, and Cook for the purpose of AARS development and enhanced overall productivity.
Administer the performance evaluations of the Ranch Foreman, Health, Safety, Security, and Maintenance Coordinator and Cook, and performance management process.
Participate with the Executive Director in the selection and termination of operation staff.
Conduct orientation in partnership with the Executive Director to ensure new hires understanding and follow-through with duties, and the policies and procedures.
Provide ongoing feedback to staff to include coaching, counseling, work plans, and disciplinary action when warranted.
Maintain and assign on-call operations schedules.
Attend treatment team meetings, staff meeting, training and conferences as need to maintain current best practice and skills.
In consultation with the Executive Director, continuously consider new processes and initiatives to improve and/or expand operational services as appropriate.
Participate in the development and implementation of the annual operating budget for the operations.
Oversee the operations budget and payroll.
Communicate with the Executive Director on issues related to budget or budget requests.
Approve the food and ranch expenditures.
Oversee risk management and participate in crisis resolution.
Review, approve and process critical incident reports to the Executive Director and appropriate staff.
Responsible for submitting reports to the AARS Executive Director, who will provide it to the Board of Directors.
Provide information on the operations goals and objectives, resources, and other pertinent information to appropriate collaterals as needed.
Attend monthly/quarterly meetings and represent the operations and agency at internal and external meetings.
Coordinate supportive services such as monitoring self-administration of medications, uranalysis collection and special events and outings.
Participate in grant reporting and data collection as requested by the Executive Director.
Work as a part of the Continues Quality Assurance (CQA) Team.
Facilitate training in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Ensure quality documentation by the Health, Safety, Security, and Maintenance Coordinator.
Develop and implement policy and policies in coordination with the Executive Director.
Learn and maintain client confidentiality within federal and state laws.
Help participants understand and employ recovery strategies.
Maintain project logs, reports and records in appropriate files and database(s).
Attend staff meeting and training workshops or will review staff tapes within 72 hours.
Prepare and submit incidents reports as needed both positive and negative to Executive Director and other staff.
Participate in probationary and annual evaluation meetings and will assist in the annual review of the AARS Operations Manual.
Read all policies and procedures manuals of AARS and pass exam.
Be responsible to be on-call for all emergencies that arise at AARS, which may include but not be limited to:
Power outages, earthquakes, and water and sewage issues.
Assume other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND
Experience:
Knowledge of general facility maintenance.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting skills necessary for managing and reporting facility and ranch operations.
Knowledge of the contract and bidding process.
Knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction as a disease.
If in recovery must be in remission for one (1) year and working a program of recovery.
Ability to communicate proficiently verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to crises situations and emergencies with good judgment.
Must be able to lift heavy objects (at least 50 lbs.
) Demonstrate cultural competency and work form a trauma informed frame of reference.
Ability to work without close supervision and to supervise others as needed.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to crises situations and emergencies with good judgment.
Preferred to have three (3) years of experience work in the substance abuse field.
Preferred to have two (2) years of experience providing direct supervision and facility oversite.
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Preferred to have bachelor's degree in related field.
Must have:
Current TB test (obtainable within the first 30 days of employment); Current First Aid/CPR Cards (obtainable within the first 90 days of employment); Current COVID vaccinations; Valid Alaska Driver's License, with a good driving record and insurable, and passed the mandated criminal background check with an allowance for a variance.
Must be a person who is free from allergies, which would interfere with daily AARS life.
May be a resident of the Mat-Su Borough and a person with knowledge of Alaska Native Cultures, both of which are preferred.
EDUCATION AND WORK
Experience:
1.
Required to have three (3) years of experience work in the substance abuse field.
2.
Required to have three (3) years of experience providing direct supervision and facility oversite.
3.
Required to have obtained CDC1 certification.
4.
Required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
5.
Required to have a valid driver's license and insurable under AARS.
6.
Preferred to have bachelor's degree in related field.
7.
Preferred to have CDC-S.
8.
Preferred to have a valid Alaska Driver's License and CDL, with a good driving record.
9.
Must have a current First Aid certificate and CPR certificate or be willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
10.
Must be able to pass mandated criminal background check CORE COMPETENCIES:
