The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services, is recruiting for an Employment Services Technician 1/2 located in Wasilla! The position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a range 14/15.
What You Will Be Doing:
Employment Services Technicians provide core services regarding employment, reemployment, and employer services to job seekers, employers and partner customers.
This position's assigned duties are to administer the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG), and the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) and State Training and Employment Program (STEP).
This position is in a training environment, learning eligibility criteria, programmatic guidelines, case management functions and system operations and will be hired as a Level 1.
The primary focus under the JVSG Program is to assist and work with eligible veterans who have significant barriers to employment, transitioning service members and other eligible persons.
The primary focus under the WIOA and STEP program is to provide employment and training services to overcome barriers to employment through the administration of state and federal grant funding.
This position provides a variety of services to customers which includes workforce preparation, resume writing, interviewing skills, cover letter assistance, job search assistance, labor market research and career exploration.

We are open Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
